Dr. Tharwat Al Bataineh is a distinguished veterinary specialist with over 30 years of experience in animal health, food safety, biosecurity, and halal systems. She holds advanced qualifications in veterinary medicine, microbiology, and halal auditing, and has served in senior regulatory and academic roles in both Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. She has contributed significantly to national policy development through her work at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture – Jordan, and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology– United Arab Emirates, where she played a key role in shaping regulatory frameworks for more than two decades. Her expertise spans animal feed regulation, animal breeding, veterinary medicines oversight, and feed to food safety, supporting high quality and sustainable livestock production. A committed advocate of the One Health approach, she contributes to national strategies on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through responsible antimicrobial use guidelines and integrated surveillance programs. Dr. Al Bataineh has strengthened food and feed security by developing inspection frameworks, disease monitoring systems, and risk based policies that enhance resilience across supply chains. She is also highly experienced in halal laboratory operations and analytical testing, including method validation, traceability verification, and advanced screening techniques that ensure the integrity of halal certified products from raw materials to finished goods. Dr. Al Bataineh has coordinated and delivered numerous lectures and training programs across multiple countries, speaking at universities, professional forums, and international conferences on food safety, animal health, halal assurance, and emerging technologies. Recognized globally as an expert auditor in food safety and halal compliance, she has led missions across diverse food sectors, ensuring adherence to international standards and supporting ethical, transparent trade.
